Depression Is a Creation of The Mind. You are not born with depression.

You created it for yourself.

We usually store memories of events in our mind and the emotions attached to them.

If these emotions are negative and strong in your memories of the event then is more likely that you'll feel the emotions strongly again and again.--- such as Anger, sadness, Guilt, unrealistic Fears and other negative emotions.

What it means is that you are firmly attached to these emotions and holding to them negatively in your mind and this affects your body also. Usually what happens is that you can’t see beyond that because you feel that you can’t deal with any more problems than what you already have and a just trying to survive in the world.

So when a new problem arrives you might start feel ing that you can’t breathe and your mind starts developing blockages in order to cope and nothing gets better. When this new behaviour starts developing and is unwanted behaviour such as a panic attack and crying almost about anything or looking for something to help you to forget your problems such as alcohol or other toxic substances products.

All your emotions block you from thinking clearly and from seeing any hope of coping with the future.

If you release these Negatives Emotions you are cleaning out your mind and also your body which gives you the sensation of lightening the load on yourself, and therefore begin to notice the present and your future.

When you are a parent, your mental health has a direct impact on your children. Children of depressed parents can be neglected, have failing grades in school, and could develop their own state of depression. It is imperative that parents suffering from depression seek help immediately and search out helpful community resources.

The Isolated Child

Children of depressed parents are often confused about what is causing the apparent lack of happiness or attention they normally get from a parent. They are unlikely to talk to peers or authority figures about their home life out of fear. This can lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation. Failing grades and a lack of social interaction can result or there can be more serious consequences like acting out or engaging in risky behaviors for attention. Unfortunately the household might be under too much overwhelming stress to notice the behaviors right away or be in a position to correct them.

The Cycle of Depression

There is a good deal of research on the topic of how growing up with a depressed parent can lead a child or grown-up child to develop depression themselves. Depressed parents have difficulty bonding with their children which can cause social problems and developmental delays. Older children can sometimes be presented with the challenge of becoming the exclusive caregiver for younger siblings which can lead to stress and resentment in later years.

Overcoming Depression as a Parent

The first step is to get immediate relief. You might need more help around the house or additional daycare in order to make time to focus on your recovery. Admit to family and friends that you need help and try to get this relief from people your children already trust. Find a local therapist,  interview them and find the best fit. Additionally, you might be able to find a local support group to help talk through your feelings and achievements in recovery.

Depression is a common feeling that almost all human beings will encounter at some point in their lifetime. The difference in length and severity is what varies from person to person. Many people will find that their depression is episodic and will find a way to focus their attention on things that make them happier and in time feel better. For some, the dark cloud that keeps them from enjoying their regular activities simply will not lift on its own.

In order to feel better emotionally, make sure that you are doing all you can do to feel your best physically. Get plenty of rest, eat a balanced diet and try to get in as much aerobic activity as you can. Studies have shown that aerobic activity releases endorphins that cause happiness, and you will be getting in shape at the same time!

You may not realize it, but vitamin D can impact your mood. A lack of vitamin D has been shown to lead to depression. You can find vitamin D in sunlight so try to get outside and take a long walk. You will get better exercising and  getting sunshine  at the same time.

Have you ever heard that old saying, "laughter is the best medicine?" Well, there may be a little science behind that saying! Laughter, like exercise, releases endorphins and also boosts your immune system. The simple act of smiling actually relaxes your whole body. No matter how sad you might feel right now, try to do something that makes you laugh or smile today. Look at old photos, see a funny movie, anything you can think of to produce a smile or laugh!
